Description: Rebay was the director of the Wiener Chorverein and the Wiener Schubertbund and did the piano reductions of many operas by Korngold and Schreker. He was booted from his positions when the Nazis took over and wrote his two clarinet sonatas in 1941 and sometime afterwards. Except for the guitar, they are in a straight line from Brahms and Fuchs in their autumnal quality and conservative late Romanticism. Apparently, he wrote dozens and dozens of works for wind instrument and guitar and has only been rediscovered during the last five years. Truly unusual stuff! Luigi Magistrelli (clarinet), Massimo Laura (guitar).
