Description: The founder of the Hungarian choral tradition has been strangely neglected by his national label. This 200th anniversary release contains half an hour of short choral pieces, 20 minutes of choruses from a never-recorded opera and a ten-minute cantata composed in 1867 for the coronation of the Emperor Franz Joseph. The texts are in Hungarian but the style, at this date, is still that of Germanic late Romanticism. Texts available on-line.
