Description: This little-known Flemish symphonist turns out to be an important link in the construction of the high Classical symphonic form. These works recorded here show a fairly early application of what became the classic use of "sonata form" in their first movements and the symphonies themselves are reminiscent of those of Haydn's middle period or Mozart's early period. NOTE: We offered this in June 2001 (06C019) as a special import when the Klara label was independent.
