Description: All five of Graupner's concertos employing the bassoon are joined by his only violin concerto in this offering which offers yet more confirmation of this composer's stature; his angularity in structuring his musical materials, relying on surprise and delight in contrasts is at the opposite end of the spectrum from his great contemporary Bach's continuous and flowing development.
