Description: The 12 quartets making up this group of works come from Hamburg in 1730 - three and four-movement works, and Paris in 1738 - multiple-movement works in the form of French dance suites. Although fairly popular in concert, it's surprising how few recordings are currently available. Volume 1 appeared in April 2009 (04K028). 2 CDs.
