Description: This quartet substitutes a double bass for the cello, allowing it to properly perform much of the early Viennese dance repertoire which was often written for three violins and bass or for two violins, viola and bass. Hence the transcriptions here of one Lanner dance and the Schubert pieces which are connected with Viennese dance music. Lanner Quartet.
