Description: The Abramian and Bagdasarian are excerpts from two Grand Piano releases we offered recently (10Q065 and 08Q063). Grand Piano also offered a complete Babadjanian piano disc but with a different pianist. So that leaves us with the Tatar melodies collected by the Armenian Spendiarian and published in 1903 (whom the Russians called Spendiarov and who was born in the Crimea), and Amirkhanian's romantic portraits with impressionistic and jazz elemeents (2009) as items new to disc. Still, if you are mildly interested in Armenian music and didn't go for the two full-price Grand Piano discs, this is an excellent sampler. Mikael Ayrapetyan (piano).
