Description: From early in his career (1906-07) the First is a work of youthful vigor, constantly tightening and releasing tension, its first movement main theme borrowed from the same place in Mozart's piano concerto K 491, while the second, a four-movement work in neo-Baroque form (Preludio-Bourée-Largo-Rondo) is monumental in conception, alternating movements of solemn sonority with the release of energetic dances.
