FRANCESCO CILEA (1866-1950): L'Arlesiana.

Description: There have been three other recordings on CD of this 1897 opera based on the same play for which Bizet wrote his famous incidental music but this one restores a third act romanza which Cilea cut during his endless revising, addition and subtraction from the work between its premiere and 1940. Too bad cpo seems to be abandoning their previously sterling record in providing libretti and translations. No libretto.
