WILHELM PETERSON-BERGER (1867-1942): Violin Sonata in E Minor, Op. 1, Suite for Violin and Piano, Op. 15, Canzone, Visa i folkton.

Description: The youthful sonata of 1887 already emanates the air, light and landscape of Scandinavia although, in this case, it's the influences of Grieg and Sjögren rather than P.-B.'s own personal style; nevertheless, utterly winning. The Suite comes from 1896, contemporary with the piano Frösöblomster and sharing their influence of folk-music. Two three-minute pieces act as filler for a disc which was recorded in 2001 (!) and not released until now. Ulf Wallin (violin), Love Derwinger (piano).
