Description: The G minor trio was written in 1897 and its four movements (26 min.) are subject to the expected European late Romantic influences (no Romanian music here or in the equally newly-discovered Sérénade, a delicious, lilting five-minute piece from 1903), which the teenage Enescu molds into a not-quite-yet personal style. Discovered only in 1965, the A minor trio (1916) now engages with Romanian traditional music while the influences of Schumann and Brahms evident in the earlier trio now shift to Liszt and Wagner. Trio Brancusi.
