Description: These early sonatas (1780) once available on fortepiano by Pietro Spada on the defunct Europa Musica label in 1991 and again on modern piano on a German RCA never released in the U.S. in 2007, are remarkable pieces in which the fantasy and imagination of a talented young composer try to burst the bounds of the two-movement, moderately fast-rondo form which you know from Galuppi, early Clementi and many other early Classical composers, ultimately seeming to point ahead to Beethoven in their harmonies and pushing against convention.
