Description: Although these composers lived and worked in Russia, their possibly Polish names got them recorded by this label whose owner found these manuscripts... in the Sibley Music Library at the Eastman School of Music ! The sonatas date from 1903 and 1905 and both abound in heart-on-sleeve emotion, both are melodically outstanding (shades of Rachmaninov in Potolovsky) and both suggest symphonic ambitions scaled-down. Jaroslaw Domzal (cello), Lubow Nawrocka (piano)
