IGNAZ PLEYEL (1757-1831): Prussian Quartets Nos. 7-9, Ben 337-339.

Description: First issued in 1787, some editions of these quartets bear a dedication to Frederick the Great, hence their title. They are in Pleyel's typical style - three movements (except for No. 8 which has only two), concertante roles for all four players, simple textures and a concentration on long, lyrical lines.
