Description: Bargiel's first trio was written under Schumann's supervision in 1851, a large work (39 minutes) which is completely in the orbit of his colleague: adventurous harmonies, blurring of the bounds of classical sonata form and a wealth of polyphony - items which both incurred the displeasure of conservative musical circles and yet earned it a bland reception by Liszt's circle who, of course, found it too conservative. The second, from 1857, is a work of half-lit mellowness and moderate tempos. Quintessential Schumannian Romanticism from an unjustly forgotten artist. Leonore Piano Trio.
