Description: This forgotten Romantic writes conservative, quasi-salon-style songs dealing with timid love and with passionate love (the two excerpts from his 1917 opera give a slight idea of his abilities with larger-scale material and the Serenata is based on a Jaliscan folk song); all of these Romanzas were written between 1917 and 1924. The three chamber pieces are basically more of the same, the influences more European than Mexican. Spanish texts. Laura Pérez Rosillo (soprano), Bernard Jiménez Casillas (piano).
