Description: Who knew that Italy's most famous music publisher also composed? He used a pseudonym (Jules Bergmein) to turn out much highly accomplished piano music during the last three decades of his life. Only a few pieces here smell of the salon; many are very attractive, virtuosic character pieces or mini tone-pictures with memorable melodies and motifs.
