Description: Collectors of contemporary, tonal, post-romantic music could do far worse than to try Orbán's 28-minute Magnificat (which even has jazz drums and a bluesy mode at Deposuit potentes!) and Tóth's 13-minute Marian hymn. The two Kodály pieces (one from 1917, the Dances from 1950) add a pair of cimbaloms to the orchestra for authentic Gypsy folk flavor. Hungarian-English texts. Béla Bartók Choir of Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, University Orchestra; Gábor Baross.
