Description: From the -esken pieces from 1917-19 and the Ironien of 1920 to the sonatas of 1924 and 1927, the majority of the music in these piano works is inspired by popular music of the period with more avant-garde, Dadaist touches in the Ironien (including In Futurum, the third-movement, which - way before Cage - consists of 1:40 of rests). The second disc closes with 28 minutes of improvisation on eight Schulhoff pieces which he wrote for the purpose, i.e. his duet partner and he would improvise on a piece specially written for the event by Schulhoff. 2 CDs. Margarete Babinsky (piano), Maria Lettberg (duet piano), Andreas Wykydal (improv duet).
