Description: Rachmaninov's duet and multiple-player piano works are quite rare on CD, so we offer this reissue containing the 28 minutes of Morceaux of 1894 - early pieces steeped in the romantic Russian piano tradition but with a hint of the mature composer in the fifth piece, Romance, the duet version of the famous Prélude which he made in 1938 for a tour planned by Horowitz. The six-hand pieces are even earlier (1890 and 1891), obviously made for the salon. Anna & Ines Walachowski (pianos), Alfons Kontarsky (fifth and sixth hands). Original 2001 Berlin Classics release.
