Description: Except for the C.P.E., these are little-known works found in the late 1980s in various Berlin sources and dating generally from the two decades before 1750. The styles range from the conservative Telemannian overture of Nichelmann and Schaffrath's interesting mixture of polyphony with classical-style melody to Quantz' very appealing early Classical concerto. Ernst-Burghard Hilse (flute), Christine Schonsheim, Raphael Alpermann (harpsichords), Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin. Original 1992 release.
