Description: Sebastiani's 67-minute Passion (augmented by a sonata by Samuel Ebart and two pieces for viols by David Funk where sermons would have gone in liturgical use and closed by a particularly dramatic funeral lament by Andreas Scharmann) dates from before 1663 and occupies a stylistic midpoint between the polyphonic Passions of the Renaissance and Bach's great works. The five voices are accompanied by two violins, four violas da gamba and basso continuo. 2 CDs for the price of 1. No texts.
