Description: Although we've just had a new recording of the Casella (11I003), his coeval Malipiero's concerto (from 1932) is currently only available here. Shorter by ten minutes than the half-hour long Casella, Malipiero's concerto is more eclectic in form, with a short first movement of arguably neo-baroque character, a longer slow movement of significant lyricism and, the longest, a final movement with a long cadenza and a polyphonically conceived closing.
