RICHARD JONES (?-1744): Suites for the Harpsichord Nos. 1, 3, & 5.

Description: Not surprisingly for a Welsh violinist/composer working in London, these suites not only contain more violinistic figuration than is completely comfortable on a keyboard but they are also quite in the Italian style beloved by Handel. Still, their irregularity of form, construction and writing for the keyboard mean that they are also full of agreeable surprises. Judit Pétri (harpsichord).
