Description: The sixth volume of this Hungarian-American composer’s warmly expressive and colorful music (remember that he was Miklós Rózsa’a film-score orchestrator in Hollywood) brings us gypsy-influenced clarinet concerto from 1970, a trombone concerto (1966) with Hungarian folk elements and a 28-minute symphony from 1931 when he was still in Vienna - a sort of one-off example of exuberantly orchestrated “industrial music” (you can compare his fourth movement “Factory” to Mossolov’s Iron Foundry!). Pál Sólyomi (clarinet), András Fejér (trombone), Budapest Symphony Orchestra MÁV; Mariusz Smolij.
