Description: Rääts' 1994 concerto is a single-movement work of a taut and tidy 15 minutes which is steely and urgent almost throughout, using minimalist elements primarily as rhythmic drivers, quite different from his fellow Estonian Pärt's better-known Concerto piccolo of roughly the same period which uses atonal material from a composition thirty years older and inventively clothes it in a neo-baroque frame.
