Description: We offered a new recording of this work in February 2012 (02N007). Part opera, part operetta, part revue, Korngold even once hoped to premiere it on Broadway. By the time of this 1951 Austrian Radio recording, it was hopelessly old-fashioned but, for us, quite interesting to hear the composer conducting.
