Description: Friend of Brahms and correspondant of Joachim and Clara Schumann, Reinthaler has appeared on this label twice already with an oratorio and an opera, both firmly in the Schumann-Brahms tradition. No surprise then that his Lieder are in the same Romantic style, generally even-keeled, making the few stormy and emotional songs really stand out, and full of memorable melodic hooks.
