Description: The Palazetto Bru Zane is at it again with this batch of World Premiere Recordings of two French Romantic cantatas by Hérold (1811) and Boisselot (1838, a Prix du Rome prize cantata and the last to not require multiple vocal parts with chorus). Great notes on the genesis and evolution of the genre. The overtures are also First Recordings, the Cherubini being a revised version from around 1820 with added brass and other modifications. French-English texts. Karine Deshayes (mezzo), Opera Fuoco;  David Stern.
