Description: Cramer was Dutch and studied in Germany with Wilhelm Berger and Max von Schillings. She acknowledged debts to Mahler, Wolf and Berg (and, less specifically, Wagner and Richard Stauss) but she also sometimes included features of folk music and even of cabaret music into her many songs of which we have 76 minutes worth here (op. 4 was orchestrated in 2007 since Cramer appears to have often composed with an orchestra in mind). German texts. Nathalie Mees (soprano), Wim Voogd (piano), LKO Orchestra; Stephan Pas. Aliud SACD hybrid
