Description: Rolla's conservatism is demonstrated by the fact that these three sonatas are recorded here in modern editions which turn the original figured bass into a piano part. The solos and duo are thus more "historically correct" but none of this will bother lovers of the viola; this young American violist is apparently fairly universally recognized as a coming big star.
