Description: Amazingly, these are the only recordings available of the Rubbra works, both recorded within two years of their composition. Both have the beautiful, deep, meditative quality you'll know from his symphonies, the single-movement, 20-minute piano trio especially luminous while the quartet is no less engrossing, especially the long slow movement, a Cavatina in homage to Beethoven's Op. 130 quartet.
