GIACINTO SCELSI (1905-1988): Preludi, Serie I-IV.
Catalogue Number: 04K090
Description: World premiere recording of the complete 47 Preludes (Nos. 1-12 appeared recently on Stradivarius). Written at various times from the early 1930s to the late 1940s, these were the composer's reflections, aphorisms, experiments in style and harmonies, work notes and explorations in sound, which begin in the world of Debussy and Scriabin but which gradually progress toward a more rarified world of pure sound that prefigures Scelsi's major stylistic break in the 50s when he began his truly avant-garde period of composition. Alessandra Ammara (piano).
