Description: This series has taken more than a decade but now nears its end with the last two song cycles Grieg wrote. Dating from 1900, these are completely unlike anything Grieg wrote previously, almost completely bereft of folk-influence (Grieg himself described them as "cosmopolitan") while the demands on the voice are dramatic rather than lyric.
