Description: Although as a young man Franck was a virtuoso pianist, after becoming organist at Sainte Clotilde, it was not until 1884 and 1887, having acquired a solid reputation as a composer, that he wrote his two great triptychs that belong to the great patrimony of the French piano. If the pianist’s name looks familiar, it’s because his father was the great French organist André Isoir.
