IGNAZ VON BEECKE (1733-1803): Piano Quintet in A Minor (BEEV 96), String Quartets in G (BEEV 127) and in C (BEEV 120).

Description: Although the surviving score and parts are not dated, the piano quintet’s galant style seems to point to the 1770s and is one of the earliest works of its genre in history. The (again undated) G major quartet is a five-movement work in good-humored divertimento style but the C major work, possibly from around 1780, is true chamber music with four equal voices.
