Description: The sonata (1998) takes Hindemith's Flute Sonata's first movement and Mozart's sonata, K 310 as bases for its outer movements, "deforming" them harmonically and rhythmically, just as Bachian counterpoint is the jumping-off point for the Sonatina of 2004 and in the Suite where modern metrical juxtaposition places the work in the 21st century. A good example of using the other train of 20th century composition (thoughts of Milhaud or Françaix might pop up too) as inspiration for new music. Ginevra Petrucci (flute), Ensemble Sherazade.
