Description: Dare I say that this is the first CD recording of Thuille's first sonata? Written when he was 19 and dedicated to his teacher Rheinberger, it shows the latter's influences and Thuille's friend, Richard Strauss, though it's more advanced than his own compositions from a similar age. No other CD recording either of the six-minute Allegro giusto of 1906. Marco Rogliano (violin), Gianluca Luisi (piano).
