Description: Like last October 2008's single-disc release of Kapitänsmusik 1724 and the July 2009 offering of Kapitänsmusik 1744, this oratorio and serenata are also part of Telemann's civic duties as Hamburg City Music Director. Lasting 67 and 61 minutes respectively, they are wholly secular works (outside of short pro forma prayers) populated by such abstractions as Hamburg itself, Devotion, Justice, Truth and Trust, and provide more cheerful and satisfying music.
