Description: The two biggest works here are the "Girl Gershwin"'s Concerto in Three Rhythms ("Fox Trot", "Blues" and "Rag") from 1932 and Johnson's 1927 Rhapsody, inspired by Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. The Suesse is a full-scale 23-minute work orchestrated by Ferde Grofé while William Grant Still arranged Johnson's original jazz-band version for full orchestra. NOTE: The notes claim that the Gershwin Rhapsody here is the "first complete, unabridged recoding of the manuscript" (the latter was given to conductor Rosenberg by Ira Gershwin in 1978.) Hot Springs Music Festival Symphony Orchestra; Richard Rosenberg.
