Description: This last volume of the Catalan composer's piano music contains mostly post-World War II pieces which reflect an inward turn, no longer inspired by nature, with the 23-minute set of Nocturnes the most deeply-felt, capturing some of the troubled nature of the Civil War through which Blancafort had just lived. At the other end of the spectrum is the unfinshed 1986 suite of "Simple Pieces for Little Hands" intended for his grandchildren. Miquel Villalba (piano).
