Description: It's finally here: the first CD devoted to the most ignored important composer in the French violin school. His style formed in the chaos and hyperactivity of the French Revolution, where heroic depictions of modern man were required in art, Rode more than anyone else invented the "heroic" soloist who dominates the proceedings almost throughout. Long, moderate tempo first movements and half-as-long finals (rondos and menuet here) surround brief slow movements with a solo part of vocal, operatic quality. Friedemann Eichhorn (violin), Southwest German Radio Orchestra Kaiserslautern; Nicolás Pasquet.
