Description: Remember the story about Mozart's duos being written for an ill Michael Haydn who wasn't going to be able to finish a commissioned set of six for Archbishop Colloredo? Well, here are Michael's four, performed by the concertmaster of the Vienna Philharmonic and his son. Much simpler harmonically, not adventurous contrapuntally, the viola very much in the role of accompaniment almost exclusively, they are still attractive pieces with much grateful and attractive melody - and you can compare 'em to the Mozart on the second disc. 2 CDs. Werner Hink (violin), Matthias Hink (viola).
