Description: The main discovery here is Klughardt's 1872 setting of a Lenau poem about a lover mourning his dead partner, wonderfully atmospheric in its descriptiveness (the texts are printed) and songful in its lyricism. White's eight-minute lament (1921) is similarly affecting while Loeffler's better-known Rhapsodies and Hindemith's bass oboe are always good to hear again. Alex Klein (oboe, bass oboe), Richard Young (viola), Ricardo Castro (piano).
