Description: Collectors of the Romantic Piano Concerto series’ Pixis may expect glittery, showy pieces designed solely for the display of the soloist and the gratification of his admiring audience but that sort of empty fluff is only in the short, 11-minute hybrid composition. Pixis’ own trios are real chamber music with the pianist a bit more than first among equals with, say, Hummel being a useful comparandum. Leonore Piano Trio.
