Description: The first sonata (1909) is a very conservatively Romantic work, all lovely melody and lyrical charm and belongs to Pejacevic's first period along with the opp. 8, 18 and 22 (the latter three all high salon music material). Her discovery of more "modern" harmony began, in her violin pieces, with the Élégie of 1913, much more expressively dissonant and chromatic while the Slavic sonata (1917) introduces characteristics of Balkan folk music and imaginatively varies them harmonically. Andrej Bielow (violin), Oliver Triendl (piano).
