Description: Balbastre was still producing conservative, Rameau-esque harpsichord pieces in the year 1759. The 1777 unmeasured Prélude may be the last of its kind written by a French composer but, in 1792, Citizen Balbastre proved he could leap into the present and combined the two most patriotic songs of the Revolution in his Marche des Marseillois.
