Description: The Dutch court of William V at The Hague is the locus of this program which features world premiere recordings of symphonies by the court cellist (Zappa), concertmaster (Schwindl), violin/viola virtuoso (Stamitz) and Kapellmeister (Graf). Dating roughly from 1750-85, the music is mostly in the Mannheim style, full of energy, extreme dynamics and, in the two Zappa pieces, slow movements which are all but cello concertos. Elizabeth Dobbin (soprano), Caroline Kang (cello), New Dutch Academy Orchestra; Simon Murphy. Pentatone SACD hybrid
