Description: Fairly rare on disc, these early Classical symphonies were almost unknown when these period-instrument recordings were made. Gossec's is the most unusual, with an odd Largo con sordini of 50 seconds separating the first two movements from a fourth-movement fugue and a menuetto finale. Cappella Coloniensis; Hans-Martin Linde. Original 1982 and 1986 Capriccio recordings.
