Description: This is a 15-minute fragment from 1814-15 worked on separately by two musicologists from 70 pages of Beethoven’s handwritten sketches and a 256-bar score. Unlike a lot of fragments by famous composers, this one is significantly advanced enough to get a real idea of what Beethoven was thinking about: perhaps the first piano concerto in history in one movement. Sophie-Mayuko Vetter (piano, 1806 Broadwoood fortepiano - WoO 4), Hamburg Symphony Orchestra; Peter Ruzicka.
